Next in Line?

My favorite tea is no longer

on tap, and it’s a ten minute

wait while it brews,

but in that time I would have to stand

to the side

in the center of the—

crowded places bring on a sickness

surrounded by disorderly

strangers who are all after some version

of an herbal brew with that key

ingredient, caffeine

thank you for asking

and it has nothing to do with

you or your wonderful business,

but your other customers are too loud

and i feel the dizzy,

racing thoughts coming on

again compounded

by those good people

so i think

i’ll be going now
